My Journey as an Adventure Photographer
Hi, I’m Dayliz Ruiz—a 21-year-old Ecuadorian adventurer, storyteller, and photographer, soon stepping into my 22nd year with a heart full of memories and a camera ready for the next chapter. My love for the outdoors began at 15 when I decided I wouldn’t wait for anyone to join me on my adventures. Camping solo, hiking unknown trails, taking pictures for my instagram page and filming it all for my YouTube channel became second nature. I’ve never been afraid to book a trip alone, sleep under the stars with nothing but the sound of the wilderness, or push my limits exploring new places, here is one of the videos I did a few years ago of one of my first solo hiking experiences:
Adventure for me is more than adrenaline—it’s about connection. I took up mountaineering and rock climbing not because I was naturally athletic (far from it!) but because I craved the thrill of conquering heights, the joy of the climb, and the incredible stories every summit holds. Through photography, I’ve found a way to capture the raw beauty of nature, the people I meet along the way, and the wisdom that solitude in the wild brings.
I’ve learned that adventure is as much about the quiet moments as the grand vistas. It’s in the stillness of sunrise after a long hike, the camaraderie of like-minded explorers, and the humility nature teaches us when we realize we’re a small part of something vast and extraordinary.
Through my lens, I strive to inspire others to embrace the outdoors, seek meaningful connections, and find courage in solitude. Every photo I take is a glimpse into a world of adventure and a reminder to live boldly and authentically.
